Aaron Collins’ thunderbolt against Reading has been shortlisted for the League One Goal of the Month award for April.

The Welshman has been nominated for the second month in a row after his effort against Oxford in March.

Collins set the tone for what was to come against Reading with a superb strike from 25 yards that arrowed into the top corner, giving Joel Pereira absolutely no chance.

He went on to score his first Bolton hat trick as the Whites put five past the Royals with some brilliant attacking play.

It proved to be the catalyst for Collins’ prolific form heading in the final weeks of the campaign, scoring seven goals in his last eight games - including a brilliant effort against Barnsley in the play-off semi-final second leg on Tuesday night to help send Wanderers to Wembley.

The January signing now faces competition from Leyton Orient’s Ethan Galbraith, Oxford’s Billy Bodin and Fleetwood’s Phoenix Patterson for the award.

Galbraith scored a fine volley in the 2-1 defeat against Peterborough at Brisbane Road after getting on the end of Jayden Sweeney’s cross.

Bodin produced a clever finish in the 1-1 draw against Posh a couple of weeks later, cutting back across a couple of defenders before lifting the ball over Jed Steer and into the far corner.

Finally, Patterson found the net with a fantastic free kick during the 3-0 victory against Burton on the final day.

Supporters can vote for Collins’ goal HERE but must do so before the deadline at 5pm on Monday, May 13.

The fan vote will be combined with the choices from a panel to determine the winners. The panel features EFL pundits Don Goodman and David Prutton and the winners will be announced on Friday, May 17.
